Location – Boutique cottage near Bosham
Client – Jane and Ian, a professional couple who live in Surrey with their teenage children and Old English Sheepdog, Winston
Brief – To help them rediscover their joie de vivre and reconnect as a couple
In Jane’s words –
“I’d been fascinated by Lynn’s retreats for some time, and had managed to persuade my husband that we should book a call with her to see if she might be able to help us relight a spark which was rapidly disappearing from our marriage.
I was surprised, and I must admit, a little concerned by her suggestion that we enjoy some solo adventures on the first day… after all, we were already spending increasing amounts of time apart.
But Ian loved her idea of driving a racing car around Goodwood, and I was intrigued by her suggestion of a dance class… and so we decided to give the retreat a go.
We stayed in a gorgeously private and cosy boutique bolthole in the most wonderful of settings, and we enjoyed some seriously lovely treats – massage, stunning food and some truly amazing healing.
But to begin with, our time alone was strained and awkward; we struggled to find any common ground, and I began to wonder if we’d made a mistake… but then I went to my dance class, which – unbeknown to me – was a belly dancing class!
This was not something I’d ever have done in a million years! But here I was, and I can honestly say it was brilliant fun, and by the end of it, I was sweaty and exhausted and yet alive. Very alive! And me and my – rather wobbly – belly were friends for the first time in many years.
I returned glowing and yet at the same time, a little shy about telling Ian how I was feeling. But I was relieved and secretly delighted that he was pleasantly – and I thought admiringly – gobsmacked by my little adventure!
It took a little more time, and some amazing tantric energy work with Lynn for the shift to start to happen, but when it did, it was as if an invisible dam had been unblocked.
A few weeks down the line, and things have got better and better, and I really do feel that life is regaining its colour and sparkle.”
A note from Ian –
“I find it difficult to put my thoughts into words here. Lynn makes everything she does seem very easy and effortless, but it is actually nothing of the sort. I don’t know how she does what she does, but she is very skilful indeed, and those wonderful few days were an absolute masterpiece of thought and ingenuity.
I emerged from my Goodwood experience feeling on top of the world, and to then find Jane in an even more heightened state after her weird and wonderful dance class was completely startling… and very compelling.
In that moment, the dynamic between us changed; there was a real meeting of minds and hearts. It was as if some sort of recalibration of personal power had taken place, and that was, I think, the difference that made the difference.
Those few days were a turning point for me – for us – and I can’t thank Lynn enough.”
